MACOM's Award-Winning Chipset and Crosspoint Switches Enable Next Generation Ross Video Offering

LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. ("MACOM") (NASDAQ: MTSI), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast video infrastructure and Ross Video, today announced that the MACOM portfolio of 12G components provided Ross Video the tools to create Ultrix™, a new standard in connectivity. This new, advanced platform being announced at IBC 2015 supports integrated routing, multi-viewers, audio and other innovative features to address the changing landscape of broadcast applications.

With the proliferation of 4K capable displays, content providers are looking to maximize consumers' visual experiences by providing higher resolution 4K content. This increase in resolution means that more data needs to be transmitted. We believe that MACOM's introduction of our 12G-SDI chipset is a material improvement over multiple 3G SDI streams, enabling a user friendly, lower cost, lower power and higher density solution that allows for stunning 4K resolution. 12G-SDI is the latest data rate in the evolution of the SDI standard and is required in order to support 4K video resolutions at 60 frames per second over a single coaxial cable.
