MACOM's MALD-37045 and MATA-37044 Enable Development of Low Cost and Low Power VCSEL-Based QSFP28 Modules

LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. ("MACOM"), a leading supplier of high-performance RF, microwave, millimeterwave and photonic semiconductor products, today announced the availability of volume shipments of their chipset for 100Gbps short reach SR-4 applications, including the MALD-37045, a four channel 25.78G/28.05G VCSEL driver, and the MATA-37044, a TIA/limiting amplifier, both with integrated Clock and Data Recovery (CDR) functionality. These industry-leading devices boast ultra-low power consumption, making them an ideal solution for small form-factor applications.

The integrated CDR functionality provides customers with improved jitter performance and lower power as compared to discrete chip-set solutions. Targeted for QSFP module applications, these devices feature direct, DC-coupled wirebonding to VCSEL lasers and photodetectors. Together, these devices offer customers a complete one-stop solution for optical modules, active optical cables and on board optical engines.
