12G-SDI Video SFP products enable Embrionix's customers to deliver 4K60P on a single link and 4K120P over dual links

LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. ("MACOM"), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast video infrastructure, today announced that Embrionix, manufacturer of the Video SFP emSFP, has selected MACOM 12G-SDI devices on their new 12G-SDI coaxial Video SFP Family.

12G-SDI is the next data rate in the evolution of the SDI standard. It is required in order to support 4K resolutions at 60 frames per second over a single coaxial cable, or optical fiber. By using dual links, 4K resolutions at 120 frames per second can be supported.

"Today, 4K transport is commonly done by combining multiple HD or 3G signals, for example 4 x 3G-SDI. The newly released 12G-SDI video SFP modules from Embrionix will allow customers to keep compatibility with previous standards while allowing them to instantly be capable of sending and receiving 4K60P signals over a single 12G-SDI link and 4K120P using a single SFP with dual 12G-SDI links," said Renaud Lavoie, Embrionix's CEO.

MACOM's family of 12G-SDI products will be shown at the 2014 NAB Show on booth #N2819 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas convention center from April 7-10.

Embrionix will have a live demonstration of their new family of 12G-SDI Video SFPs at booth#N3738 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas convention center.
